Just wanted to post to say THANK YOU! to all of our friends and supporters. God has blessed Luke and I so much to have so many friends now, here in our city and online. Luke's mom is throwing us our shower finally :P it's called our First Anniversary Dinner but she wants us to throw the garder and bouquet (neither of which were used in our wedding mind ya but that's what she wants). We've invited about 32 people to come celebrate with us. I know I know, we haven't showed you guys any pictures yet but we tried to save them on Luke's computer (once we got it working again (if you know about that), but now Luke's computer doesn't work once more. I truly apologize to our online friends but money is funny and we have not been able to get internet access at home or a new computer so we can scan things in. But as soon as one of those things happen we'll get things ready for you. Luke and I also have to write out a mini-speech about how we've grown this year. I think it was supposed to be our vows but we used the traditional vows originally and since we've been married a whole year we don't feel that'll be appropriate for the First Anniversary but to talk about our dedication... (sorta the same but different). Anyway, thank you for keeping us in your prayers and leaving us comments and advice. Oh and if anyone is interested (as some have asked) we are registered at Walmart, Amazon and Target. God Bless you all, and thank you again. Love, Luke & Rose

Well I was thinking about making a post like this but hearmemeep beat me to it. (look here: http://hearmemeep.livejournal.com/97492.html?style=mine) It's like everyone is getting married! It's so odd. In addition to those she listed, Luke and I ALSO know of a couple that got married in the same month as us, plus i_will_sing and her hubby, songs_of_joy and her bf is planned this summer. Jonathan & Veronica in June and this fall is Andy & Sasha. In all I think Luke and I know of 8 *blink* eight weddings going on this year! That's a lot when I've only been to 3 in my whole life, including my own. Three out of 26 years, then all of a sudden EIGHT in 1 year? Odd. I truly wonder if God has a special message in this... long-distance relationships DO work? Purity is in? 2 are better than 1? Protect heterosexual marriage? hmmmm

So the things that are currently going on is
Luke and I went to order our glasses yesterday! God blessed us with enough money to finally do that. Together our glasses came to appx. $700! woah... and imagine if our kids will need glasses.
We found out that YET ANOTHER of our friends are getting married! So we have another wedding to go to, but honestly there are already 2 major things going on that week and I'm not sure we'll be going - but we both want to. Either way we have to plan a wedding gift soon.
We are having some re-consideration about moving to the apartments we have already set our minds on. But we better hurry, we're moving in just 1 month! O_O Yikes
Luke is just as sweet and loving as he's always been and I'm just so thankful for his friendship.
My mom's missing me and we'll be going home to visit her in just a few weeks. I can't wait to be home again, even if it is just for a few days.
I'm really enjoying being a teacher and being a Sunday school teacher. I feel so thankful that God uses me to teach others about Himself.
Well I gotta go cuz Luke wants to post in his LJ :P |

So my hubby rented me Top Spin - a tennis video game for PS2... It's really good, you can even play Federer :P Only thing that sux is you need a bunch of time b/c the matches are real length PLUS there is a lot of slow loading time in the game (particularly in the Career option). I was playing in the Career option and I had a match with this girl ranked 69... man we had 2 tiebreaks and the score ended up being 1,4,3 to 3,3,4! MANOMAN! I was ticked and I felt frustrated when I lost shots like I see the professionals miss in their matches. It was so weird yet cool to feel that type of frustration. If I had more time I could definitely see getting addicting to that game (that is if I kept playing between all the loading times lol). Btw, today is Luke and mine's 4th month anniversary of being married! ^_^; Oh and FYI I added a couple of cutesy things to our userpage. Enjoy.

Well, my lovey is sick. :( Please pray for her. She needs to feel better because it's no fun being sick. :P Well, the apartment we thought we'd get, we've decided we're not gonna get. Instead, this other apartment opened up just down the hill (literally. I mean we could seriously pick up our couch and carry it down there.). The only thing is that it is on the top floor. But we think that's okay because it's actually about level (Rose says lower) with our curent apartment (which is on the second floor) because the parking lot is so funky (hills and stuff). The rent is a lot cheaper than the other one (only about $40 more than we'd be paying if we stayed), plus there's parking, and like a big park/grass area (Rose says it's just a field not a park) in front/behind it. (confused? Welcome! :D) Anyway, seems like a good place to go. Still praying about it, though. We watched In Touch this morning w/Charles Stanley. He sat on our couch and watched it with us er, I mean, he was hosting it. ^_^ It was good and all about finding and following God's will. It was very cool. My sweetie is making us breakfast rigt now. Mmmmmmm. Grits and sausage and toast. Mmmmmm. Toast. I lovey my lovey. ^_^ Oh, yeah, we are gonna have a barbecue whenever we get all moved and settled, (Rose says we're gonna put a shrimp on the barbie) if the Lord allows. I would like to have our pastor and a bunch of other people over. Wanna come? You're more than welcome. Anyway, it's breakfasty time. Yummies!!!! (Rose said food's ready). Bye bye. *eats food*

O_O sorry long time since update... so Luke was being forgetful again but his mom came over last weekend (which was nice but would've been nicer IF she had come alone) and told us that it is a real psychological malfunction in his neurons (or something) in his brain O_o... woah.. I knew he had brain problems but never that bad. That would explain Luke's headaches sometimes. Other than that everything had been well between us. I LoVe him :) So I decided to quit school for a bit here and try my hardest to be a good wife and housemaker - as well (and more importantly) concentrate on the Lord. I've been doing pretty well lately, but then I just started. Loads of things going on for Luke and I. We're considering if God wants us to be missionaries and/or work in the nursery regularly at church which works for me b/c that's sorta what I was doing before if you remember. We just went to Couple's Game Night which is an activity put together by our church's college-aged ministry. The college pastor/leader person is one of Luke's casual friends (sorta cool being in the sorta IN crowd lol). Anyway that was Saturday and we went to someone's house we didn't know but they go to our church. We played Family Feud on DVD and Taboo. It was fun and I really like the married couple we met. They are a bit younger than us. We haven't been going to Young Couple's study regularly unfortunately :( But I do like it when we go. And we might go to the missionary conference at our church this evening or tomorrow to find out more about it. Awwwwwwwwwwwww My hubby just came over to me (he just got home) and gave me a March copy of Shojo Beat!! YES! SCHWEEETT! I always wanted one but I never bought any cuz it costs but now I have my very own and I'm so happy.. there are tons of cool articles in there as well as manga ^________^... he's a sweety. So we're working on moving to this new apartment in the next 2 months and I can't wait. I hope the weather stays decent b/c we had a tornado warning massive a week ago and it was scary b/c our apartment now is so not weather resistant ^_~ Anyway, loads of things going on.. a wedding to attend next month, a birthday party on Saturday, ^^ it's odd how sociable we have become together but apart we're so nerdy. Anyway it's din din time! God bless.

Two months ago, I took her hand. Two months ago, I made a vow, To have and to hold, To honor and cherise, In sickness and in health, In poverty and in wealth, Till death do us part. Two months ago I said this things. Two months ago I spoke from my heart. Two months ago I meant every word. Two months ago I said "I do." Now here, two months later, I mean it just as sincerely, and feel it so much more deeply. To my love and my heart, From whom I will never part, 'till death's warm embrace, brings us both before Jesus' face, To the second love of all days, I say, Happy anniversery, my Lovely. ~ A tiger I love you. <3

Wow God must have been leading us. It was so cool b/c I decided to go with the Valentine heart thing and I made it like a puzzle. This piece, leads to this one... And I heard Luke come in last night walking around the apartment and reading the final piece. Then he comes into the bedroom and he comes close and hands me a single red rose! (the rose was kinda pinkish tho) I was like Ahhhhhhhhhhh thank you. It was the sweetest thing EVER!!! He is soooooooooooo nice to me! Tonight we are going on a date ^_^! February is so special for us.

So Luke and I have been doing well together. A few ups and downs but mostly great, as before we married. We have started going to couples' study at church BUT I don't know... they don't have any relationship topics, which is disappointing sorta. We also have invited over people for our first get together/fellowship thing this coming Sunday. I'm planning on making tacos ^_^ I have to get a dessert together tho. |

oopsie! I didn't realize my smiley face cut off half of my last entry about us getting married and the actual thoughts during the ceremony.. so go back and read more :P after the part about my mom arriving :) if you're interested. |

Hey All! Thank you all for your prayers and good wishes through all that madness. I'm just glad it's over OVER ... >_> over Over!! :) So much has happened in such a lil amount of time. I'm in MISSOURI.. it's nice here, different but also the same in many ways. Oh and I just got off the phone with my mother-in-law. Luke and I have to remember to make and send everyone thank you cards. If you'd like an e-card please leave us your email address. Pictures won't come for a while I'm afraid... not for like maybe another month. Money is so hard for Luke and I. I really hoped people would give us money for wedding gifts but no, we got stuffs (glasses mostly lol). We did get a nice amount from my friend Kathy and my brother Ronnie although his gift was like a trick. His was like the kiss of Judas truly. But that's a whole long story that I'll probably never take the time to explain for the simple fact of it's over and stupid on his part. At any rate tho, we have to gather the negatives and pics from family who took them, then develop when we get the money THEN scan... so don't hate on us for not posting pics soon. The day before the wedding was so hectic. Luke and I took most of the day packing and rushing here and there... finally in the evening Luke, his mom and niece, me, my parents and my brother all went to the church for practice. Practice was nice. Well except for my DAD! Wow, that man must have lost his rhythm or something lol. He couldn't do the graduation march (that's the step we choose). hehehe... It's funny b/c he did the same messed up stepping in the actual ceremony AND it's on video lol. I have to remind my parents, my brother someone to send me a copy of that video cuz it's too funny. Yep, my parents video cammed the whole wedding and the cutting of the cake. The practice was simple and short. The day of, we got up and ate and I was so pressured I think I was pressuring Luke some - he didn't really say it tho cuz he's a sweetheart. So we packed up most of the food and so forth and went up to the church, I think about 9:50 or so. I started arranging things but Luke's mom arrived about 15 mins later and took over. She was like an army sergeant lol. It was funny but weird... I'll get used to it. I think that shows a bit about Luke's personality too. Then I don't know, it was suddenly 11am! I had to leave the setting up totally to my mom-in-law and go off to get dressed. MY MOM WAS NOT THERE YET! Urg.. I was so upset for a few minutes... I'm like, where is she. Soon, Linda (Luke's mom) came in and helped me with my dress. My mom was still not there. It was just about 11:30 when she did finally arrive.. I was so happy. Oh and I knew by this time Luke was dressed and upstairs ^_^... he came to the door and asked me where the marriage license was... So I knew things were being prepared. I asked his mom if people were arriving and she said a few. Y'know it was between the time I went to dress and right then, that I finally became what EVERYONE IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD kept asking me (and Luke), I was nervous, finally. Before this point there was NO nervousness, no regret, no nothing... just 'Let's get this over with'. This nervousness wasn't as bad as when I have to stand in front of a crowd and give an oral report, or like when I have to stand up on stage and do a play... it was a slight bit less and it was a whole lot different. Well when my mom arrived I was finally happy and immediately could see she was out of breathe and bothered that she was late. I asked why and she said your grandmother - and I knew exactly what that meant! She put on Linda's corsage and her own and started taking pics of me. Linda too lol. But then Linda had to leave out and honestly I was glad for the private time with my mother right before the ceremony. I love my mom so much and she is a best friend of mine. My mom fixed my dress and my tiara and veil (yea I had both!) and more pictures.. then it was just about time... so we went out...... .......it was kinda funny, y'know Luke wasn't supposed to see me until I came marching down the aisle. Hehehe... he was standing outside the sanctuary doors when I came out @_@ he looked then said "oops" and went back in the sanctuary lol. Silly.. and honestly by this time (actually a few minutes after my mom got there) the nervousness had receded. Linda, me, mom and daddy all stood outside the doors talking, as the pastor came and escorted first Linda, then my mom inside. My dad and I stood outside, thinking (from -practice) the music would change slightly and we would know to come to the door for the wedding march... hahhahaaaa :P nope, the music didn't change and pastor's wife had to actually come out and say they're ready for you lol. (talk about clumsy), but I don't think anyone noticed. So my dad and I began walking done and it was weird. Everyone was looking at us (me?) and I wasn't no different than usual. I saw many people that I knew and cared about. Camera's were flashing it was surreal really. Then I looked up and saw my handsome groom. I had seen him in the tux before (b/c we wanted to make sure everything fit right) but wow, he looked like Ken standing up there. My mom said when she saw him she said that 'I really did it, I married Ken' and that I was Barbie ^_^... Wedding Barbie :) Everything from there went smooth for the most part. Another funny thing (besides my dad's shuffle down the aisle) was when it ended, Luke and I was supposed to walk down the aisle (fast) and go down the stairs for greeting of Mr. and Mrs. y'know. Well Luke and I walked fast and got to the stairs outside the doors and we hear pastor yell "Stop right there Luke and Michelle" O_O huh? So we stop and there is a few short words spoken to the guests then pastor says Come back in, let's do it again~~something to that nature. We're like HUH?? lol. It was funny. We were posing for pictures because pastor said no photographs during the ceremony. So we posed lol, it was quite funny. Like "REDO" or "TAKE TWO". I even told Luke it was like we were actors. But the whole ceremony was kinda odd... like for real but also like unnecessary. Only because Luke and I had long before taken vows in our hearts before God. But this was official vows before God and man, that we would be dedicated to each other and to our Lord as ONE. :) So that's neat. It was fun but the absolute best part was when Luke and I left and Luke drove :) and we went to our hotel. It was a VERY VERY nice hotel, with kitchen area (dish washer too), living room area, super comfy bed, and lovely bathroom. The tub seemed big and the shower Luke said was great (I took a bath ^__________^). It was like luxury hehehe. Finally we were alone and could rest. I really enjoyed the time with Luke and have been enjoying it ever since. So that's what happened from my side... from Luke's.. hehehe well we'll just see if and when he'll get around to updating this thing lol. HAPPY SATURDAY!

So I've been going crazy the last few days, since ooooo...Friday I'd say. I mean literally rushing to get everything done - ALTHOUGH I shouldn't worry so much. Luke's been really helping me to not worrying but have faith in God about finances. Just pray for us everyone. We need the following requests: Pray for us financially to be stable the next few months ESP. in January Pray for our wedding ceremony and reception to be a success and easy Pray for us and our families to have safe travel Thursday - Monday Please ^_^ think of it as your wedding gift to us, we really need God's protection and that's really the most important thing anyone could give us for our wedding. Thank you. |

That's only like..1 week and a few days. That's no time at all. Yeah, it can seem far away at times, but it gives us time to reflect, talk, prepare and most importantly, pray and read the Lord's word. I don't think I mentioned before, but Michelle and I will be fasting the Sunday before. We want to go into this marriage with completely the right attitude and a complete and total reliance upon God. God is good but He will only work in us if we let Him. That's a lesson I had to learn the hard way. I think I may fast the internet and cartoons...maybe something else. Michelle will be fasting food. >_> That's not really something I have the option of fasting, unfortunately. By the way, for any engaged couples, definitely pick up (if you can find them) this video series entitled "Before You Say, 'I Do.'" It is Very helpful and informative and really does help you face issues you may not have thought of and gain attitudes you may not have thought of. It's an old series (like '70s), but VERY helpful. Definitely check it out. Okey dokey, artichokeys, I'd best be headin out into the cold, cold, COLD!!!!!! world to get some stuff done. Catch you all laters. Praise the Lord. He is so good. Amen and AMEN. :) :D |

Okay. So, I got the hotel reserved. I gotta remember to go and pick up my tux tomorrow. Michelle and I have finalized the plans on what we want to do on our way back to Columbia (because we'll be driving). The Lord helped me take some major growth steps yesterday and He spoke through Rose to do it. YAY! ^_^ Still dunno about the grooms dinner or the food for the reception. We stamped out a one-month emergency budget tonight and went over it and decided to come up with a more permanent one when we know more of the Lord's plan for my job and Rose's job. We watched a tape on finances with Larry "frugal" Burkette and I must say I had a fun time even as we worked out the budget (once we figured out where stuff really needs to go.)^_^. We have one more tape to go but I think we are gonna see about getting the other tape from her pastor and going through that one as well, cause it sounds like something we will want to watch and listen to. We are continuing to pray for the right attitudes towards each other as well and keeping God first, being Godly people, treating each other right, the Lord blessing our relationship, and a whole host of other things. The Lord is taking care of us and He is so good and I know we can trust in Him. Thank you all so much for your prayers for us. Please let us know if we can pray anything for you. Otherwise we will just keep praying the basic most important stuff, mainly that you seek the Lord, and keep Him first in your lives and relationships. Praise the Lord! TWO WEEKSSS!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone for praying and skilly for commenting! I had a wonderful time with Luke. It was like, sorta, we were married already. We had some trials we had to work through and spent time in each others arms and just talking and being together without much to worry about. The worst worry came just within the last few hours as I awaited Luke's call saying he was home safe. His flight had gotten delayed. He was supposed to be home no later than 8pm but actually didn't get there until about 11:30! Yet I'm thankful he didn't miss his flight nor were there any complications. I just hope my hon-bunny will make it until tomorrow evening when he can get some proper rest. THANK YOU LORD FOR YOUR PROTECTION AND PATIENCE WITH MY IMPATENCE. |

Well Luke comes tomorrow PLEASE PRAY FOR SAFE TRAVEL... it's really icy here today and it's supposed to snow tomorrow but by God's grace it won't, or at least it won't bad enough that we can't travel. Other than that I'm happy because I miss him and being with him and relaxing. We should be able to get a good amount of stuff done too. God Bless! |

OKAY! I'm looking at song lyrics .. Luke and I have basically decided on one song I think it's called a Love of a Lifetime by Michael W. Smith... thinking about the CD is a another whole issue... I'll probably play my Steven Curtis Chapman love CD if i can find it. ( I did find this song online... ) I don't know for sure b/c I never heard it but I definitely am looking at Unforgettable. I think it was a duet with Nat and Natalie. Now I've been thinking about the food and y'know we never picked out drinks @_@ ( Read more... ) |

Oh I just love our LJ here and yes Luke posted once and me - 3x's but who cares :P So we basically marked out foods for the reception last night. They include Baked Chicken (maybe BBQ) Mashed potatoes cooked veggies salad and the wedding cake! I'm all pumped about making my own wedding cake. Maybe it won' tbe as fancy as those by a caterer but man ^_^ it'll be fun. I'm thinking (well Luke said) chocolate cake (then I said) with white or cream icying and coconut! Then if possible putting either a heart made out of candy or chocolate on top OR the traditional man and woman.. but I doubt Luke can find a white man and black woman unless he buys them separate or buy a black couple and a white one and take the necessary pieces? @_@ Oh and I believe it'll be a double cake (instead of triple like many wedding cakes are). Oh I love to cook and think about cooking.. not necessarily the eating, altho that's good too but it's something about cooking, prepping, creating something ppl will get enjoyment from - it's ALMOST, but different than writing ^_~ ~Rose

Hi all... I don't know if it even matters ^^ BUT today I was totally engulfed (actually this whole weekend it seems) with wedding planning. Saturday was so sad tho b/c I kept seeing the IMPERFECTION of the plans and I know I need to trust in God about it. Through Luke God did help me to see that... ( ramblings ) But we did talk about our mini-honeymoon plans - YES! We have mini (many) honeymoon plans :P some that even we aren't aware of O.o Today I got my dress and it's very princessy, surprisingly, since I'm reportedly a tomboy ^^ Neways! The dress ^_____^ ooooo you'll like it - but I can't show the actual one I got. I don't want Luke to see it until the day of :) but I wanted to post pics This is so pretty This one I looked at but didn't try on because they didn't have it in my size. ( Here are a couple that are (at least similiar to) the ones I tried on.. )
